Multicomponent Crystals of Phthalocyanines–A Possibility of Fine-Tuning Properties

Phthalocyanines (Pcs) are 18-electron π-conjugated macrocyclic ring systems with proven activities in diverse fields, including pharmaceuticals and catalysis. These demonstrated often alluded to as their fascinating photophysical photochemical dispositions, which usually dependent on molecular structures. However, many of these molecules suffer from aggregation due π–π stacking have limited insolubility hydrophilic media, limits extensive utilisation pharmaceutical applications. This review will explore the possibility fine-tuning physicochemical properties phthalocyanines when designed multicomponent crystals.
